Singer Liran Danino Reflects on New Single as a Symbol of New Beginnings

Following the release of his new single "The Last Song," Israeli singer and songwriter Liran Danino discussed the creative process and emotional significance of the track in an interview on Kan News Radio's "At Midday" program. Danino described the song as a "swan song," portraying a moment of hesitation and transition where one foot is still in the past but ready to move forward. He emphasized that the song does not signify a farewell to music but rather an emotional phase, stating, "Every farewell is a new beginning."

The interview took place the day after Danino's performance at the Jerusalem Creator's Festival and following a weekend show at Tel Aviv's Menora Mivtachim Arena. He described the experience on stage as euphoric, highlighting the energy exchange with an audience of 7,000 people and the thrill of live rock music. Danino reflected on his 17-year career since debuting on the Israeli show "Kochav Nolad," noting that after a five-year hiatus due to vocal cord issues, he has connected with a younger generation of fans.

Musically, Danino is returning to his rock roots, inspired by 1990s rock legends like Aerosmith and Guns N' Roses. To capture the authentic sound, he acquired rare vintage equipment, including two 1967 Marshall amplifiers, aiming to emphasize bass, drums, and guitar. He also highlighted the creative harmony with his collaborators, especially working with external lyricist Sahar Haggai and arranger Tal Forer, which he found refreshing compared to his usual solo songwriting approach.

Danino concluded by expressing enthusiasm for this prolific creative period and the joy of exploring new artistic territories, underscoring that the song and his current work represent a chapter of growth and renewal rather than an end.
