Netanyahu Calls Jewish Rioters in West Bank a 'Spreading Cancer' Amid Concealed Cabinet Decision

In March 2024, the Israeli cabinet passed a decision condemning violence by Jewish rioters in the West Bank, a phenomenon that has intensified over the past year. However, it was revealed on Channel 13 news that the full decision was never published and was deliberately concealed for political reasons. During the cabinet discussion, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to the Jewish rioters as a "spreading cancer." Despite demands from senior security officials, including Shin Bet chief David Zini, to publicize the decision, Netanyahu and several ministers opposed its release.

Yesterday, during a situation assessment at the Judea and Samaria Division, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir condemned nationalist crime in the territories, stating, "This is a phenomenon that harms security, and we must not accept it. We will continue to act with Shin Bet and the police to eradicate it."

Recently, sharp criticism emerged within Shin Bet regarding David Zini's handling of Jewish terrorism. Sources told Channel 13 that Zini "does not approve intelligence operations in the West Bank against Jews and even prevents actions that could lead to arrests of suspects involved in Jewish terrorism." They added that Zini does not believe Jewish terrorism exists but views it as "a small group of delinquent youths."
