Rabbi Tzvi Israel Tau Convenes Emergency Meeting of Over 100 Rabbis Ahead of Elections

Rabbi Tzvi Israel Tau, spiritual leader of the Noam party and president of Yeshivat Har Hamor, convened an emergency gathering on Monday evening with over 100 rabbis from cities and communities, yeshiva heads, and community leaders in preparation for the upcoming elections. The meeting, called on short notice, focused on presenting Noam's campaign plan and emphasizing the need to strengthen the party's presence in the Knesset.

Among the attendees was Rabbi Yosef Zini, a prominent rabbi from Ashdod and father of Shin Bet chief David Zini. Rabbi Tau expressed strong support for Noam's chairman, MK Avi Maoz, praising his influence on hearts and souls and expressing hope for blessings and success in the campaign. Maoz outlined the campaign's messages, highlighting the party's renewed focus on education, which he said has been neglected while foreign influences infiltrate the system. He stressed the fight to preserve the sanctity of national Torah study institutions, which he described as severely disadvantaged.

Rabbi Amiel Sternberg, head of Yeshivat Har Hamor, called for unity among the Jewish people, referencing the biblical call to gather all Jews during the period of the Three Weeks. He urged a return to Torah and redemption, strengthening the strong and removing weaknesses within the community. Other notable participants included Rabbi Oded Wollensky, a senior rabbi of Religious Zionism who blessed the new campaign, and Rabbi Yigal Kamintzky, rabbi of the Gush Katif community.

The meeting underscored the urgency felt by religious leaders to consolidate support for Noam as the elections approach, aiming to safeguard religious education and values within the national agenda.
