Naama Lazimi Leads Democratic Party Primaries with Over 86% Voter Turnout

The Democratic Party primaries concluded on Monday at 7 PM, with a high voter turnout of 86.2%, as more than 97,000 of the 114,000 eligible members participated in the digital voting process. The primaries were held to select the party's candidate list for Israel's 26th Knesset. Voting opened at 9 AM and featured 51 candidates competing for approximately 10 to 12 realistic spots on the list. The digital voting method, conducted via mobile phones, contributed to the elevated participation rate.

An initial exit poll released immediately after the polls closed showed Naama Lazimi leading the race, followed by Gilad Kariv, Efrat Rayten, Yair Pink, Gabi Leski, Omri Ronen, Michal Rozin, Moshe Redman Abutbul, Moran Zar Kanzenstein, and Nimrod Shafir rounding out the top ten. Naor Narkis was positioned 14th in the preliminary results. These figures are based on a sample, with the official results and the finalized party list expected to be announced at 8 PM.
