Cybersecurity Startup Neo Raises $100 Million Led by Andreessen Horowitz with Notable Israeli Investors
Neo, a cybersecurity company founded by former SentinelOne employees, has publicly announced raising $100 million in funding, including $75 million in a Series A round and an additional $25 million planned for 2025. The current funding round was led by venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz and Basemar, with participation from Craft Ventures and Merlin Ventures. The company also boasts a prominent group of private investors, including Asaf Rappaport, CEO and co-founder of WIZ; Merav Bahat, founder of Dazz; Ofir Ehrlich, CEO of EON; Israeli singer Omer Adam; former CEO and founder of Talon and Argus, Ofer Ben-Nun; and NBA player Zaza Pachulia.
Neo was established by CEO Nick Warner, Shlomi Salem, and Eran Shirazi, with two of the founders having backgrounds at SentinelOne, a company specializing in endpoint security. Neo develops a real-time control layer for managing and securing AI agents, AI-based applications, browsers, identities, and traditional software enhanced with agent capabilities. The startup currently employs 50 people, 40 of whom are based in Israel.
In an interview with Calcalist, co-founder Shlomi Salem explained that Neo focuses on protecting the endpoint interaction between humans and AI agents. He highlighted the challenge that AI agents operate with user permissions, creating uncertainty about the source of information and the scope of agent actions within an organization. Neo’s technology assesses what software is installed, verifies compliance with organizational cybersecurity needs, and ensures agents use appropriate accounts, thereby reducing the attack surface and preventing security breaches before they occur.
