Israeli Journalist Amnon Levy Endorses Eight Democratic Party Primary Candidates, Warns Against Naor Narkis

Israeli journalist and media personality Amnon Levy published his official recommendations for the Democratic Party primaries held on Monday. Levy expressed that choosing was difficult due to the high quality of candidates but ultimately endorsed eight individuals, including current Knesset members, security experts, and grassroots activists.

At the top of Levy's list is Knesset member Naama Lazimi, whom he described as "the most interesting parliamentarian who will go far." He also praised Knesset member Gilad Kariv as a "Reform rabbi showing a different face of Judaism." Another notable endorsement was retired Major General Nimrod Sheffer, whom Levy personally knows and described as "impressive, honest, intelligent, and a security expert who seeks peace." Levy also recommended Yariv Oppenheimer, highlighting his fight against Jewish terrorism in the West Bank and his courage to oppose the occupation despite its unpopularity.

Levy included former Knesset member Mossi Raz, praising his gentlemanly and social peace-oriented approach amid a climate of harsh rhetoric. His list also featured three activists from the field: Nava Rozilio, recognized for extensive grassroots work; Avi Dabush, described as a top-tier peripheral and field activist; and Nidal Masalha, a veteran candidate and committed peace advocate.

Despite his overall positive tone, Levy strongly criticized one prominent candidate, Naor Narkis, a social media figure, calling him a "cheap provocateur" and urging voters not to support him. Levy concluded his post with a clear warning: "Here is one I recommend avoiding."
