Liberman Conditions Support for Temporary Minority Government on Becoming Prime Minister

Two leaders from the Change Bloc revealed that Avigdor Liberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, demanded to be prime minister as a condition for backing future political moves. According to a report by Kan News on Sunday, these claims stem from two private meetings held weeks ago where a complex plan was proposed to Liberman. The plan aimed to form a temporary minority government relying on Arab parties abstaining, with the goal of replacing Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister, then dissolving the Knesset for new elections.

Liberman reportedly responded unequivocally that if such a scenario were to occur, he should lead the government. The two party leaders who heard this condition neither rejected nor officially agreed to it. However, Liberman strongly denied the allegations, calling them lies and stating there is no option for a minority government even for a moment. Despite his denial, other Change Bloc sources insist that Liberman made these demands during the closed-door talks.
