Israel Considers Total Ban on Drones Amid Iranian Threat Concerns

Israel is contemplating a comprehensive ban on drone flights across its airspace due to fears of a potential Iranian attack. The security cabinet has already discussed the issue and reviewed the defense establishment's assessment. This significant move stems from the current lack of technological solutions to counter explosive drones, which have already posed threats to Israeli forces in Lebanon and along the northern border.

Officials are concerned that in the event of escalation, Iran, Hezbollah, or other actors could increase drone usage, potentially targeting Israeli territory. While no final decision has been made, ongoing discussions are accompanied by evaluations of how to communicate such a ban to the public, considering that drones are also widely used for recreational and media purposes.
