Fire Near Shamsheet in Jezreel Valley Prompts Evacuation and Aerial Firefighting Response
A fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in an open area near the community of Shamsheet in the Jezreel Valley. Due to concerns that the blaze might spread toward the residential area, authorities decided to immediately evacuate the first line of houses after consulting with firefighting and rescue services. Eight firefighting teams, supported by crews from the Jewish National Fund, are working on the ground to contain the fire and protect the buildings. Concurrently, firefighting aircraft from the aerial firefighting squadron were deployed to assist with efforts from the air. Northern District police forces are present at the scene and have begun evacuating the homes closest to the fire zone.
