Israeli Police Chief Orders Immediate Removal of Officer After Drug Use Footage

The Israeli Police responded on Friday to a report set to air in full on Kan News, which showed a police officer attending an event alongside a wanted individual and ignoring drug use occurring nearby. Following the footage, Police Commissioner Dany Levi instructed the Haifa District Commander to conduct an immediate investigation and submit a report to the Police Investigations Department. The commissioner also ordered the officer to be removed from his position and the station commander to be reassigned for failing to report the officer's conduct. The police emphasized that any behavior inconsistent with the organization's values is taken seriously and will be thoroughly and professionally examined. If any misconduct is found among the officers involved, appropriate disciplinary measures will be enforced with full severity.
