Police investigate viral video allegedly showing officers having sex beside patrol car

Israel Police has opened an internal review after a video began circulating on social media on Monday, apparently showing two police officers having sex in public outside a police cruiser. The clip has embarrassed the force, and investigators are trying to determine when it was filmed and who the people in it are.

Police said the incident was referred for handling by the relevant authorities. If the officers are identified, they could face the police disciplinary court and possibly dismissal from the force.

The report also notes that about a year ago, the police disciplinary court convicted two traffic officers who had an intimate relationship during operational shifts and inside a patrol car. Under a plea bargain, they admitted and were convicted of conduct unbecoming an officer, or conduct that could harm the police’s image.

In that earlier case, both officers received a severe reprimand and a temporary demotion in rank. The current case remains under investigation.
