Man Filming Couple in Car Released to House Arrest Amid Ongoing Investigation

A 24-year-old man from the periphery, suspected of secretly filming a couple having sex in their car in Rehovot, was released to three days of house arrest under his wife's supervision. The suspect, a father of three, had been held for ten days, but the court decided to release him as the investigation is still ongoing, including phone data analysis and witness verifications. The couple identified him in a lineup, though the woman was not completely certain.

The male partner described the terrifying incident, saying the suspect knocked on their car window late at night in a secluded area, showed them the video he recorded, and refused to delete it. When asked what he wanted in exchange for deleting the footage, the suspect demanded to perform a sexual act on the woman, which the couple refused. The suspect then forcibly entered the back seat and touched the woman, prompting the couple to shout at him to leave.

The couple reported the incident to the police about a month later, fearing the suspect might target others. During police questioning, the suspect denied any involvement. His lawyer argued the police should investigate other suspects as there was no proof linking his client to the crime. As part of his release conditions, the suspect is banned from entering Rehovot for one month and must appear for police questioning when summoned. Violation of these terms will result in immediate re-arrest.
