12-Year-Old Israeli Boy Digs Backyard Pool Based on TikTok Followers Count
Adam Cooper, a 12-year-old from Maagan Michael in Israel, has launched a unique TikTok project during his summer vacation where he digs a backyard pool with a shovel, matching the number of digs to his follower count. Starting with just one follower and one dig, his account rapidly gained popularity, reaching approximately 77,000 followers within two weeks. In his latest video, he performed 30,000 digs, a task that took him between four to five hours, and he edits the videos himself, spending an additional one to two and a half hours on editing.
Cooper explained in an interview with mako that the idea was inspired by similar videos he saw abroad, where others dug with forks to create secret bunkers. He chose to dig a pool with a shovel instead, aiming for originality. His parents only became aware of the TikTok page after it gained significant traction and were enthusiastic about his success. Cooper plans to continue posting videos every two days due to the increasing difficulty of the task.
He is currently preparing for a family trip to Thailand in August but intends to keep up with the project until then. So far, he has filmed himself only from the side while wearing a hat, but he promises to reveal his face and share more about himself once he reaches 100,000 followers. When asked if he really plans to build the pool, Cooper confirmed he does, with his mother supporting his decision. Despite some negative comments, he remains unfazed and focused on his goal.
