Ariel Eidan, the southern correspondent for Channel 14, said he has passed 1 million followers across TikTok, Instagram, and Telegram after about three and a half years online. In a special interview with C14, he discussed how he built that audience and what he believes it takes to keep growing.
Eidan said the first million was the product of years of work and that the next milestone will be harder. “There is a big potential that was realized in the first million,” he said, adding that he hopes and estimates he can reach a second million in another three to four years.
Explaining why people follow him, he said his guiding principle is to deliver news immediately, with as little filtering as possible, and with as much detail and field documentation as he can provide. He said speed, consistency, and unique content are what drive many people to his accounts.
Asked which platform he prefers, Eidan named TikTok as his favorite of the three, saying its algorithm can reach huge audiences, including people who do not already follow an account. His advice to journalists and content creators was simple: “Be consistent, do not give up on yourselves.” He said he works around the clock, filming and reporting late at night, during family events, and even while traveling or on vacation. In a post, he thanked his audience for their trust and support and promised to continue bringing news from the field, telling important stories, and serving as “the voice of many of you in the media.”
