Asael Halel Tzanani, who is currently serving in reserve duty in the northern sector, shared a video online in which he adapted the lyrics of the song “Halvay” to the security reality, and received more than 100,000 views on TikTok. Aseel Halel Tzanani, who in his daily life works as the external relations manager in the settlement of Eli, was called up for long reserve service and has already lost count of which round he is in. Tzanani, who is currently fighting in the Lebanon and Syria sectors, has made music a way of life and sings everywhere and at any time. A video he recently shared, in which he performed his own moving version of the song “Halvay”, originally performed by Hanan Ben Ari and Far Tassi, took the internet by storm.

In a special interview with C14, his wife Hodaya said, “He did not think at all that it would blow up like this.” According to her, Asael regularly sings for family and friends, but this time he wanted to spread it further. “He knows that it makes him and others happy, so he thought it was a great way to raise morale and motivation, and to make the people of Israel happy,” she said. She added that the main message guiding her husband is, “We passed Pharaoh, we will get through this too.”

In the version he created, Asael changed the lyrics and adapted them to the tense security reality in Israel: “I wish it would end, and that we would go back home soon. And that there would not be more rounds with Iran, missiles from Yemen. I wish we would stop fighting in the street, and that there would be peace here. That we would be one united, unique and special people, I wish.”

The video went viral on TikTok and has received more than 130,000 views as of now. Warm reactions were quick to follow, and many users encouraged the reservist fighter to stay safe: “May God protect you, you are the heart of the country,” “So talented and awesome, may God protect you,” “Amen brother, an incredible singer.”

Hodaya summed up her pride in her husband’s message and in the family as a whole: “We are all in the same trouble and the same redemption, and the moment we understand that, everything will change. What an amazing privilege we have to serve the country and protect our home.”
