Man Arrested for Threatening Doctor with Toy Gun Over Medical Dispute in Tayibe Clinic
A man in his 40s was arrested after threatening a doctor at a health clinic in Tayibe, an Arab city in central Israel, using a toy gun disguised as a real firearm. The incident began when the dissatisfied patient called his treating physician, demanded the doctor stay in his office, and then arrived at the clinic armed with the realistic-looking toy gun to intimidate staff. Upon entering the clinic, the man approached the medical secretary's desk and issued a threatening demand to "tell the doctor to fix this," causing panic among the medical staff and patients who were unaware the weapon was fake.
Following the alarming event, an urgent police complaint was filed, prompting the Central District police to launch an intensive investigation. Utilizing advanced technological methods, the police tracked the suspect's movements and quickly located and arrested him. During interrogation, suspicions were confirmed that he had threatened public servants and medical personnel with a fake firearm.
The suspect was brought before the court, which extended his detention to allow further investigation. The court also ordered a professional medical evaluation to assess his condition. The police emphasized their zero-tolerance policy toward violence, bullying, or threats against medical teams working in clinics and hospitals, and confirmed that the criminal investigation is ongoing with the aim of filing charges against the suspect.
