Fire Erupts at Ali Khamenei's Tomb Complex in Mashhad, Iran

A large fire broke out Thursday afternoon at the asphalt workshop within the Imam Reza shrine complex in Mashhad, northeastern Iran, where Ali Khamenei's tomb is located. According to Iranian authorities, the blaze started due to ongoing asphalt work at the site. Firefighters quickly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the sacred complex.

The shrine's management, the Astan Quds Razavi Foundation, reported that the heavy smoke originated from burning thermal insulation materials. They emphasized that the incident caused no property damage. Mashhad's fire department confirmed the fire produced thick smoke visible from a distance but was brought under control swiftly.

Officials reassured the public that the situation is now stable and under control, with no injuries or significant harm to the shrine or its surroundings.
