On Wednesday, during the first day of the annual airshow in Pensacola Beach, Florida, US Navy Blue Angels jets performed an extremely low-altitude flyover that sparked panic among beachgoers. The powerful jet engines generated strong winds that blew away beach equipment such as tents, umbrellas, and chairs, causing property damage and minor injuries to some spectators. Eyewitnesses described the jets flying just meters above their heads, with one visitor, Ashley Koren, saying she feared the planes would crash into the crowd, calling the experience both amazing and frightening. Another witness, Samantha Maine, noted the blast was so intense it collapsed their tents.

The incident was widely shared on social media, prompting the US Navy to announce a safety investigation to review the circumstances of the maneuver. A Navy spokesperson emphasized that the safety of both the audience and pilots is a top priority and confirmed the investigation will assess compliance with Navy protocols and Federal Aviation Administration standards.
