WhatsApp Adds Direct Microphone Control for iPhone Calls
WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature for iPhone users that allows easier control over microphone settings during voice and video calls. The update integrates iOS’s built-in microphone modes directly into the WhatsApp call interface, eliminating the need to adjust settings through the iPhone’s control center. Users can now switch between different audio processing modes, such as voice isolation to reduce background noise and enhance the speaker’s voice, or other modes that adapt sound capture to the environment.
According to WABetaInfo, this integration enables quicker and more accessible microphone adjustments during calls, which is especially useful in noisy environments like offices or streets. Previously, changing microphone modes required exiting the call interface and accessing the iOS control center. By embedding this functionality within WhatsApp, the app enhances real-time audio control and continues its trend of improving call quality and user experience.
The feature is currently being distributed gradually to iOS users, so some may not see it immediately even after updating the app. This rollout follows WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its calling capabilities, aiming to provide a more advanced communication tool with better sound quality and flexible options during calls.
