MK Tzvi Sukkot Demands Closure of Hamas-Linked Cafe in Jerusalem's Old City

MK Tzvi Sukkot, chairman of the Education Committee and the Subcommittee on Judea and Samaria Affairs, has called for the closure of "The Message Cafe" in Jerusalem's Old City Muslim Quarter. The cafe operates under the auspices of the "Lajnat al-Quds" association, which Sukkot alleges is affiliated with Hamas and serves as a center for spreading Islamic religious propaganda.

Sukkot noted that the Jerusalem District Police have already recommended shutting down the cafe, but the closure process has been delayed due to legal obstacles involving the Attorney General's office, specifically legal advisor Gali Baharav-Miara. During his visit to the cafe, Sukkot addressed the tenants, stating, "The days when you could spread incitement are over." He pledged to advance the police's recommendation to close the establishment.

He also issued a direct demand to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to finalize the closure, emphasizing the urgency by referencing Hamas's role in perpetrating one of Israel's worst massacres. Sukkot criticized the ongoing delays and insisted that the incitement center must not remain open any longer.
