MK Tzvi Sukkot Confronts School Principal in Shuafat: 'You Won't Get a Shekel, We Will Shut You Down'
Chairman of the Knesset Education Committee, MK Tzvi Sukkot, arrived this morning, Thursday, on a surprise visit to the “Nur Al-Huda” school in Shuafat and confronted the principal. According to Sukkot, there is a connection between the institution’s management and Hamas and associations recognized as terrorist organizations. During the visit, Sukkot showed the principal, Hamza Kaysi, documentation of him soliciting money for an association linked to Hamas. Following the confrontation and the presentation of the documentation, the principal ran into the school grounds.
After last week’s attempt to force his way into a school in the Galilee, MK Tzvi Sukkot arrived this morning at the “Nur Al-Huda” school in Shuafat, which he says is linked to associations identified with Hamas, and confronted the principal: “You will not get a shekel from the state, we will shut you down.” @lirankog pic.twitter.com/Zz3O7SOWvv, כאן חדשות (@kann_news) June 11, 2026
In a statement on behalf of the MK, it was said that Kaysi also serves, alongside his role as school principal, in positions in associations connected to terrorist elements. It was further alleged that the building in which the school operates was established through donations raised by figures identified with Hamas, and that controversial public figures participated in the building’s inauguration ceremony.
“There is no extraterritorial zone in the State of Israel,” Sukkot said. “We will not lend a hand to terrorism and we will not allow a situation in which educational institutions in Jerusalem operate under the protection, funding or influence of elements identified with Hamas. Anyone who thinks it is possible to establish institutions using Hamas money, introduce extremist ideology into the education system and at the same time enjoy recognition or budgets from the State of Israel is mistaken. A child who grows up in a Hamas school is the future terrorist.”
Last week, Sukkot was documented trying to force his way into a school in the Upper Galilee village of Tuva Zangaria using a disc saw. According to him, he arrived for a prearranged tour, but the local council head and residents prevented his entry and locked the school gates in front of him.
