Oman Suffers Historic 127-6 Defeat to Indonesia in Asian U18 Girls Basketball Championship

The Asian Under-18 Girls Basketball Championship Division B opened with a shocking and unprecedented result as Oman was defeated 127-6 by Indonesia on July 14. The match featured extreme statistics, including Oman committing 73 turnovers, with guard Zaina Louai Awani Batash responsible for 20 of them. Indonesia dominated from the start, leading 36-1 after the first quarter and 33-0 in the final quarter. Oman started that game trailing 28-5 after the first quarter and failed to score more than five points in any quarter. They committed 40 turnovers and shot 7 of 53 from the field, while India dominated the boards with 70 rebounds, including 34 offensive rebounds. These results highlight the significant challenges Oman faces in this competition.
