Police Volunteer Investigated for Alleged Illegal Shooting of 17-Year-Old in Bedouin Village

The Southern Unit of the Police Investigations Department (Mahash) questioned a police volunteer under warning on suspicion of unlawful shooting and causing serious injury. The incident occurred last Saturday during a police operation in the Bedouin village of Segev Shalom. According to the investigation, the volunteer fired shots that injured a 17-year-old boy in the leg, who was moderately wounded and required medical treatment. After the interrogation, the volunteer was released under restrictive conditions, including a two-week ban from all police stations and a prohibition on contacting those involved in the case. The teenager's family claims he was shot while riding a motorcycle after filming police officers conducting a search at a neighbor's house.
