Former Rafael Employee Michael Katz Dies From Iranian Missile Wounds in Haifa
Michael Katz, 82, a former employee of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, died at Rambam Hospital in Haifa from wounds sustained in a direct hit by an Iranian ballistic missile on April 5. Katz had battled for his life for over three months after the missile struck a building on Shimshon Street 57 in Haifa. The attack initially killed four members of the Gershovich family. With Katz's passing, the death toll from the missile strike has risen to five. Katz's wife, Nina, who was lightly injured in the attack, mourned him, saying, "On that terrible Sunday, my life was shattered by an Iranian missile strike. I was granted a new life, for which I am thankful to the Creator, but from now on I will live half a life after 55 years of marriage."
