Police Shoot Suspect Firing at House in Sulam; Suspect Dies of Wounds
On Tuesday evening, police officers from the Northern District shot and neutralized a suspect who was identified firing at a house in the village of Sulam. The police operation was part of preparations to manage a conflict between families in the area. The suspect was critically wounded and evacuated for medical treatment but later died from his injuries. Another individual was found injured at the scene in moderate condition. The incident is being investigated as a criminal case with suspicion of murder in Sulam.
Separately, on Saturday, 19-year-old Benyahu Razi from Givat Ze'ev was murdered in an Airbnb apartment in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem. The court extended the detention of Razi's ex-partner and also extended the detention of another suspect, the apartment owner, until Thursday. The police accuse the ex-partner of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. The judge noted there is reasonable suspicion that she was involved in the planning of Razi's murder.
