Mami Card Breaks Israeli Record with Over 11,000 Issued in 24 Hours
Mami Card, a new credit card launched through a collaboration between the Israeli consumer club Mami and Isracard, set a record by issuing more than 11,000 cards within its first 24 hours in Israel. This marks the highest number of credit card issuances in a single day in the country, highlighting strong consumer demand for tangible, immediate value in everyday spending rather than distant rewards.
The card is designed to leverage the purchasing power of Mami's large community, which includes over 400,000 members and 300,000 active monthly users, by offering benefits on common household expenses such as shopping for home, children, fashion, personal care, and leisure. Cardholders accumulate "Mami Money" through purchases at participating businesses, which can be redeemed in the Mami Store for products, vouchers, experiences, or combined with payments.
Mami founder Maayan Adam emphasized that the card continues the club’s mission to empower families with real purchasing power and accessible benefits, stating, "Our rewards are not a distant dream but a simple, accessible reality." The card features no annual fees, a 0% foreign currency conversion fee during two selectable months until year-end, and up to 20% rewards at Israeli merchants during summer months. New members receive a 150 Mami Money sign-up bonus.
Isracard’s deputy CEO Lior Raviv praised the partnership for combining payment innovation with a smart loyalty program, noting the record-breaking issuance as a significant milestone achieved entirely through a digital onboarding process. The rapid uptake reflects a strong alignment between the card’s value proposition and current economic pressures on households.
The Mami consumer club’s prior successes include over 100,000 app downloads, 50 million monthly organic exposures, and substantial savings for members. The launch of Mami Card is seen as a natural extension of this consumer power, aiming to expand benefits and partners while making loyalty rewards more practical and integrated into daily family expenses.
