New Poll Shows Ganzekout Overtaking Bennett for Second Place
A new poll published today, Thursday, by Israel Hayom points to a shakeup at the top of the center-left camp, showing Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar! party overtaking the Yachad party and rising to second place with 20 seats. That is an increase of three seats from the previous poll, in which the party had 17 seats.
By contrast, Yachad weakens to 19 seats, down three seats from the previous poll, in which it received 22. The result marks, for the first time, a lead for Eisenkot in the struggle for leadership of the opposition camp.
Likud remains the largest party with 24 seats, a slight drop of one seat from the previous poll. The Democrats and Shas each receive 9 seats, while Otzma Yehudit strengthens by one seat and also reaches 9.
At the bottom of the table, United Torah Judaism gets 7 seats, Hadash-Ta'al 6, Ra'am 4, and the Religious Zionism party just 4 seats. According to the bloc breakdown, the current coalition has only 53 seats, far from the majority needed to form a government. By contrast, the Zionist opposition parties reach 57 seats, while the Arab parties hold another 10 seats.
