Israeli Cyber Unit Warns of Phishing SMS Posing as GOV.IL Messages
The Israeli National Cyber Directorate and the National Digital Directorate have issued a warning about an active phishing attack involving SMS messages. In the past hour, fraudulent SMS messages requesting payments and containing malicious links have been circulated within existing GOV.IL message threads. This attack exploits how messages are displayed on certain devices and does not involve any breach of government systems. The Cyber Directorate is actively working to address the malicious links. The public is urged not to click on these links, avoid entering personal or credit card information, and to make payments only through direct access to official websites. Suspicious messages can be reported to the 119 hotline.
