Five Girls, Including a 9-Year-Old, Detained for Alleged Attempt to Cross Israel-Lebanon Border
Five girls, including one adult and four minors with one as young as nine years old, were detained for questioning at the Kiryat Shmona police station on Tuesday. The group, affiliated with the "Awake North" movement, was suspected of attempting to cross the border into Lebanon near the Hasbani River. The legal aid organization Honenu reported the detentions and stated that attorney Avraham Sofer is providing legal counsel to the girls. As of now, the Israel Police have not issued any official statement regarding the incident or the circumstances surrounding the alleged border crossing attempt.
