Talented Guard Oren Sahar Signs with Pepperdine University Basketball Team

Oren Sahar, a promising guard from Maccabi Tel Aviv, has officially signed with Pepperdine University’s basketball team ahead of the upcoming college season. The announcement was confirmed on Monday evening, marking Sahar’s transition to the American collegiate league. Pepperdine’s head coach, Griff Aldrich, expressed enthusiasm about the signing, highlighting Sahar’s natural scoring ability, excellent passing, and game management skills. Aldrich stated, "We are excited to have Oren join our team. He possesses many of the qualities we look for in our point guards and we expect him to quickly adapt to our playing style."

Currently, Sahar is participating in the European Under-20 Championship with the Israeli national team. In the first three games, which included two wins and one loss, he averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. Over 18 appearances with an average of 9 minutes per game, Sahar has scored 4.6 points and grabbed 1.3 rebounds. His standout performance came against Galil Elyon, where he scored 22 points. This move to Pepperdine represents a significant step in Sahar’s basketball career as he prepares to compete at the collegiate level in the United States.
