Talented Guard Oren Sahar Signs With Pepperdine University Basketball Team

Oren Sahar, a promising guard from Maccabi Tel Aviv, has officially signed with Pepperdine University’s basketball team ahead of the upcoming college season. The announcement was made on the evening of July 13, 2026, confirming expectations about his move to the NCAA program.

Pepperdine’s head coach, Griff Aldrich, expressed enthusiasm about Sahar joining the team, highlighting his scoring ability, excellent passing, and game management skills. Aldrich stated, "We are excited to have Oren join our staff. He is a very talented guard who possesses many of the qualities we look for in our point guards. Besides being a natural scorer, he is also a great passer and floor general, and we expect him to quickly adapt to our system and style of play."

Currently, Sahar is participating in the European Under-20 Championship with the Israeli national team. In the first three games, which included two wins and one loss, he averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. Over 18 appearances with an average of 9 minutes per game, he scored 4.6 points and grabbed 1.3 rebounds. His standout performance came against Galil Elyon, where he scored 22 points.
