Israeli Border Police Detain Three Suspects in West Bank Over Racist Abuse During Security Operation
During a security operation in the West Bank settlement bloc of Gush Shilo, Israeli Border Police and Central Unit detectives conducted evacuations and raids in the village of Adi Ad on suspicion of involvement in violent incidents. During the operation, a female resident directed a racist and offensive remark at a female detective, calling her a derogatory term. The detective warned her that such language is illegal and asked her to stop, but the suspect repeated the insult. Simultaneously, another resident under house arrest verbally abused a Border Police officer, calling him "Sudanese" to humiliate and insult him while he was performing his duties.
As a result of these racist remarks, three suspects were detained for questioning. After the investigation, they were released under restrictive conditions, and the inquiry is ongoing. The commander of the Judea and Samaria district, Police Commissioner Moshe Pinchi, spoke with the officers involved, supporting their actions and condemning the citizens' behavior. He emphasized that those who insult or use racist language against officers harm not only the individuals but also the values of Israeli society.
Pinchi strongly denounced the disgraceful conduct, expressing solidarity with the officers who act courageously and professionally according to the law. He affirmed that security forces will continue to operate decisively and sensitively, focusing on isolating lawbreakers from the normative population in the West Bank alongside ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and crime.
