Anita Ice Cream Opens First Las Vegas Branch as Golda Shrinks in Tel Aviv
While the Golda ice cream chain is reducing its presence in Israel, particularly in Tel Aviv where its branches have decreased from 20 to 9, its sister brand Anita is expanding internationally. Anita, positioned as a more upscale ice cream chain, recently opened its first store in Las Vegas at the luxury Venetian Hotel, one of the world’s most popular tourist and entertainment destinations. The new branch, which cost about $1.5 million to establish, covers approximately 80 square meters and is located near the hotel’s main casino, attracting millions of visitors annually. This Las Vegas location is the first of three planned Anita outlets in the Venetian complex over the coming years.
Anita’s new store marks the chain’s 28th global location, adding to its existing branches across the United States, Australia, Spain, England, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Mexico, Cyprus, and Israel. Founded in 1998 by Anita Avital and her son Nir, the company started with handmade ice cream based on family recipes. Over time, it grew into a broad family business. In 2002, brothers Nir and Adi Avital opened the first Anita store in Tel Aviv and later established Golda, which operates exclusively in Israel. At its peak, Golda had 140 branches and currently runs 117 sales points.
