Missing Beit Shemesh Man Found Safe After Being Stranded on Mountainside

Aaron Barakman, a 25-year-old man from Beit Shemesh, was found safe after being stranded on a mountainside. He was located on Sunday evening by rescue teams in the Siaita D'Shmaya area, unable to move due to fear of falling. Barakman managed to attract the attention of passersby, who alerted the rescue forces. The rescue teams coordinated with civilians and successfully extracted him after several days of anxious searching.

Earlier on Sunday, the Israel Police had issued an urgent public appeal for help in locating Barakman, who was last seen the previous evening on Road 386 heading toward Jerusalem. His disappearance prompted extensive search efforts, including a command post set up by ZAKA volunteers in Beit Shemesh and the use of advanced technological means.

This case followed another recent search operation where a dementia patient from Beitar Illit was found in Jerusalem after a large-scale search involving dozens of volunteers. Barakman is now safely returning to his family following the successful rescue operation.
