Tel Aviv Court Issues Harassment Restraining Order Against Right-Wing Activist Mordechai David
On Sunday, Tel Aviv Magistrate Court Vice President Judge Tal Havkin granted a restraining order against right-wing activist Mordechai David following a request by Hadas Klein. Klein, a witness in the Netanyahu corruption cases, had filed a police complaint months earlier accusing David of witness harassment. The incident occurred in court when David approached Klein, filmed her, and called her a "bitter witness" testifying against Netanyahu in Case 1000, adding, "It hurts you that Bibi is in power."
Judge Havkin's ruling criticized David's conduct as repeatedly crossing the line between legitimate protest and threatening harassment. The judge noted David's persistent intrusion into Klein's personal space, restriction of her freedom of movement, and recording and publishing the harassment on social media. The court emphasized that David has ignored the problematic and illegal nature of his actions despite four previous restraining orders issued against him for similar behavior.
This latest judicial action marks a continued legal crackdown on David's aggressive tactics targeting witnesses in high-profile political trials. The court's firm stance underscores the limits of lawful protest and the protection of individuals from intimidation in judicial settings.
