US Prepares Ground for Possible Ground Invasion in Iran Amid Ongoing Conflict
Eliyahu Yosian, an expert on Iranian affairs, analyzed recent US actions toward Iran, asserting that Washington is preparing the ground for a potential ground invasion. Speaking on Channel 14, Yosian emphasized that the conflict between the US and Iran is likely to escalate beyond current levels, dismissing any ceasefire agreements as temporary and ineffective.
Yosian outlined three critical steps the US must take to decisively defeat the Iranian regime: first, to seize or attack oil and gas fields to cut off economic resources; second, to deploy ground forces inside Iran; and third, to arm and collaborate with Iranian opposition groups. He noted that the US has already begun implementing the first two steps by targeting infrastructure in southern Iran and positioning ground troops near the Iranian border.
The expert highlighted that recent US strikes have focused on vital economic infrastructure and military intelligence bases in southern Iran, aiming to weaken the regime’s operational capabilities and pave the way for a ground offensive. Yosian suggested that the US might introduce ground troops into Iran when deemed strategically appropriate.
Concluding, Yosian raised the question of the US’s ultimate goal in the region: whether it intends to become the dominant power in the Middle East or leave the Iranian regime with some influence. The ongoing US military efforts appear aimed at establishing exclusive control over the region’s future dynamics.
