Club, Knives and Cocaine: Indictment Filed Against Northern Resident

A 30-year-old resident of Hatzor HaGlilit was indicted today, Thursday, for assault and threats stemming from a financial dispute. The suspect, who was arrested after fleeing the scene, was found in his car with cocaine worth tens of thousands of shekels, cash, and attack tools.

The incident began about two weeks ago, when a report was received of an assault and threats in Hatzor HaGlilit. According to the investigation, the suspect approached the victim demanding payment for work that had been carried out. When he did not receive the money, he attacked him with a club and caused him serious injuries.

After the report was received, police forces began efforts to locate the suspect, who had fled the scene. Uniformed and undercover officers were deployed on roads and at city entrances. As part of the operation, a vehicle matching the description was located in the Safed area, with the suspect, a 30-year-old resident of Hatzor HaGlilit, driving it.

During a thorough search of the suspect's vehicle and belongings, police found an attack tool that is believed to have been used in the assault, along with several switchblades. In addition, a dangerous drug, cocaine, estimated at tens of thousands of shekels, and NIS 39,000 in cash were seized.

At the end of the investigation and after the evidentiary foundation was established, the Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against the suspect for the offenses attributed to him. At the same time, a request was submitted to the court to extend his detention until the end of the legal proceedings, as well as a request to forfeit the seized money and his vehicle.
