Israeli MK Limor Son Har-Melech Shares Emotional Reflection After Birth of Grandchild at Hadassah Hospital

Israeli Member of Knesset Limor Son Har-Melech posted a heartfelt message following the birth of her first grandchild at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. The hospital holds deep personal significance for her, as nearly 23 years ago it was where she and her daughter Sarah survived a deadly terror attack that claimed the life of her husband, Shuli, in the West Bank. Son Har-Melech described the birth as a moment where personal and national triumphs intertwined, with the presence of loved ones who have passed away felt strongly in the delivery room.

She recounted how Sarah was born prematurely after the attack, saved by emergency surgery performed by Professors David Shweiki and Avi Rivkin. The birth of Sarah’s son with her husband Natan at the same hospital symbolized continuity and hope amid past tragedy. Son Har-Melech expressed profound gratitude to the medical staff, including Hadassah’s CEO Yoram Weiss and the midwives Julia and Hamdat, who supported the family through both difficult and joyous times.

Reflecting on the experience, she emphasized the resilience of the Israeli people, stating that despite attempts to break them, they continue to build families and deepen roots. She concluded with a prayer that this moment of renewal would inspire strength in those who carry pain, affirming the enduring spirit and faith of the nation.
