Daughter of Terror Victim Gives Birth at Same Jerusalem Hospital 23 Years Later

Nearly 23 years after being born prematurely at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital following the murder of her father in a terror attack, Sarah Yahav (Har-Melech) returned to the same hospital to give birth to her first son. Sarah is the daughter of Knesset member Limor Son Har-Melech and the late Shuli Har-Melech, who was killed in a shooting attack in August 2003. At the time of the attack, Limor was six months pregnant and severely injured, undergoing emergency surgery at Hadassah to save both her and the unborn Sarah. Sarah was born prematurely and spent an extended period in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Today, Sarah and her husband Natan brought their newborn son into the world at Hadassah Ein Kerem, completing an emotional circle at the hospital where her life began under tragic circumstances. Limor Son Har-Melech expressed deep gratitude, saying the moment symbolizes the resilience of the Jewish people and the triumph of life over hatred. She reflected, "From pain grows hope, from loss a family is built, and life continues to prevail." The medical team involved in the original surgery included Professors Asher Shushan, Avi Rivkind, and David Shveiki.
