19-Year-Old from Modiin Illit Charged with Serious Sexual Offenses Against Minors
The Central District Prosecutor's Office filed charges on Thursday against 19-year-old Chaim Atis from Modiin Illit for committing serious sexual offenses against two minor siblings. According to the indictment, Atis noticed the children playing near his home, ran toward them, and grabbed one child. After that child kicked him and was released, Atis seized the second child, took him to a lower floor of a nearby building, committed indecent acts, and photographed him. Atis then fled the scene but was apprehended by the minors' parents and passersby who called the police.
The indictment accuses Atis of performing indecent acts on a minor under 16 without consent and attempting indecent acts on another minor. The prosecution requested that Atis remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings, citing his high danger to the public and lack of self-control. Publication of any identifying details about the minors is prohibited by law.
