David Zini, former Major General and current head of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), clarified that regarding the upcoming elections, the Shin Bet operates directly under the authority of the Chair of the Central Elections Committee, Supreme Court Deputy President Judge Noam Solberg. This statement was made during a tripartite meeting initiated by Zini, which included President Isaac Herzog and Judge Solberg. The meeting focused on preparations for the forthcoming election process and emphasized the importance of cooperation among all relevant bodies to ensure a fair, secure, and proper election. President Herzog highlighted the threats facing the election, noting the presence of hostile foreign digital interference and internal attempts to disrupt the democratic process. He stressed the shared commitment to maintaining election integrity and preventing efforts aimed at undermining Israeli society through election tampering.
