Maryland Burglar Arrested After His Truck Is Stolen During Verizon Store Robbery
In Baltimore, Maryland, a man named Jalen Goddard, 29, was arrested after his truck was stolen while he was robbing a Verizon store. Goddard himself called the police to report his vehicle missing from a nearby parking lot. Shortly after, officers responded to a break-in at the Verizon store and found Goddard at the scene. Despite his claim that he was at a nearby McDonald's when his truck was stolen, police noticed blood on a broken window and on Goddard's left hand, which contradicted his story.
Body camera footage showed Goddard speaking with officers, but his explanations were not convincing. Security cameras captured a person wearing a black balaclava stealing items from the store. During a search, more blood was found on Goddard’s shirt, yet he continued to deny involvement. The arresting officer remarked that Goddard was experiencing "karma" for having his truck stolen while committing the robbery. Goddard was charged with burglary, theft, and property damage. Authorities have not released any information about the individual who stole Goddard’s truck.
