Tel Aviv Police Arrest Man for Tesla Car Break-In After Security Footage Capture

Security cameras in an underground parking lot on Levontin Street in Tel Aviv recorded a serial car thief's method of operation. The suspect, a 42-year-old Tel Aviv resident, was seen wandering suspiciously among parked cars, closely inspecting them. He then approached a white Tesla, smashed its window, stole valuables from inside, and fled the scene. The entire act was captured in detail by the parking lot's surveillance system.

The incident occurred on June 14, 2026, when police received an official complaint about the break-in. Following the report, officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station and forensic investigators launched an intensive investigation. They collected forensic and technological evidence from the crime scene, which, combined with the clear surveillance footage, led to the suspect's identification.

A court-issued arrest warrant was obtained, and the suspect was apprehended and interrogated under caution. After completing the investigation and consolidating the evidence, the Tel Aviv District Prosecution filed formal charges against him for vehicle burglary with intent to steal. Alongside the indictment, the prosecution requested an extension of his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings, emphasizing the police's commitment to combating property crimes that threaten public safety and property.
