Bus Driver Alerts Police to Suspicious Passenger Who Is Illegal Immigrant Linked to Car Theft

A 16-year-old illegal immigrant was arrested in Holon on Monday after a public bus driver alerted police to his suspicious behavior. The driver honked and signaled to officers during an operational activity, prompting them to stop the bus. The driver reported that the passenger appeared nervous, muttering to himself and looking around anxiously.

Police approached the suspect and asked him to exit the bus. During initial questioning, the minor claimed he had no identification. A police database check revealed that the suspect was allegedly involved in a car theft earlier that same morning on Highway 4, from which he had escaped.

The minor was taken into custody and transferred for investigation. Authorities plan to request an extension of his detention based on the investigation's findings.
