Gali Shagiai, the mother of the late Niv Chaya, who died after battling cancer, shared a heartbreaking post: "I forced myself to take a sleeping pill". The grieving mother described how every morning the pain, the longing and the emptiness return with unimaginable force.

Gali Shagiai, the mother of the late Niv Chaya, who passed away after battling cancer, shared a disturbing post this morning (Thursday), in which she described some of her difficult feelings: "Another morning with this weight on my soul, I have no idea how to deal with it, I forced myself to take a sleeping pill". According to her, she wanted to disconnect from her thoughts for a few hours, "from the reality that I still cannot understand how it became mine".

The grieving mother said that when morning comes, the pain, the longing and the emptiness that cannot be explained in words return all at once. "I walk around my house and feel like a stranger, everything looks the same but there is a painful silence. Inside me there is a loneliness that cannot be described". According to her, many questions are giving her no rest, and keep running through her mind nonstop. "If I had done this, and if I had gone to one more place, if I had asked one more doctor, if I had insisted more and if I missed something. Frustration that is hard to explain. Frustration that hurts. Frustration that comes in waves and crushes me again," she said, adding that only she knows how hard she fought, "I left no stone unturned". According to her, a mother’s heart does not know facts or seek logic, but seeks answers.

She also added that she does not know how to continue and rise from the heavy mourning: "No one teaches a mother how to continue when her heart is buried together with her daughter, how to breathe when every breath hurts, how to live with longing that does not give rest אפילו for a moment".

Dozens responded to the post in an attempt to comfort Gali: "A big hug. May God send you strength", "The darkness is always temporary, and the Creator of the world does not forget anyone", "There are no words in the world that can truly comfort the pain you are describing". One of the followers referred to Gali’s words and emphasized: "You are an amazing mother and be sure that you did everything you could".
