80-Year-Old Man Killed in Car Accident in Hod Hasharon
An elderly man, approximately 80 years old, died after being struck by a vehicle on Derech Ramatayim in Hod Hasharon on Sunday. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams were dispatched to the scene following a call received at 12:05 PM from the MDA Yarkot district. Paramedics, including Karim Araki, Idan Binder from the motorcycle unit, and Obeida Aazem, reported that the pedestrian was found unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and despite immediate medical efforts, his death was declared at the scene.
This incident follows a similar tragic event last Thursday in Modi'in Illit, where seven-year-old Moshe Glinsky was fatally hit by a bus after leaving his cheder (religious school). The call was received at 12:04 PM by the MDA Ayalon district. The child suffered multiple severe injuries and was pronounced dead by MDA paramedics at the site on Rabbi Akiva Street.
These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about pedestrian safety in Israeli cities and the critical role of emergency medical services in responding to traffic accidents.
