Elderly Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Car in Hod Hasharon
An approximately 80-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Ramatayim Road in Hod Hasharon on Sunday. Magen David Adom paramedics arrived at the Ramatayim-Habanim junction to find the man unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and declared him dead at the scene. Paramedic Karam Araki and medics Idan Binder and Obeida Aazem described the incident as severe, noting the victim's critical injuries left no chance for resuscitation.
Following the accident, the northbound section of Ramatayim Road between Asaf Harofeh Street and the Ramatayim-Migdiel junction was completely closed to traffic to allow police and traffic investigators to work. The Hod Hasharon municipality announced the closure would last about two hours. Drivers approaching from the north were advised to detour via Asaf Harofeh Street or Benot HaGibor and HaGibor streets to bypass the blocked junction.
