Esteemed Educator Yael Gelbert Passes Away at 67 in Bnei Brak
Yael Gelbert, a revered educator in Bnei Brak, passed away at the age of 67 after a prolonged and severe illness. Born to Rabbi Eliezer Bogard and Dr. Aviva Bogard, a respected physician in the Haredi community known for treating many leading rabbis, Gelbert was deeply rooted in Torah scholarship and communal service. She was married to Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Gelbert, director of the Karlin-Stolin Talmud Torah in Bnei Brak.
For over four decades, Gelbert served as a senior teacher at the Beit Yaakov school in the Ramat Aharon neighborhood, where she educated thousands of girls. Her dedication, unique approach, and warm personality made her a prominent figure in religious education, instilling love for Torah and reverence for God in her students.
Alongside her educational work, she and her husband built a home centered on Torah and kindness, raising 12 children and numerous grandchildren who continue to follow the path of Torah and Hasidism. Her funeral procession departed from her home on Noam Elimelech Street in Bnei Brak at 11:00 AM, proceeding to the cemetery in Elad for burial. The community mourns the loss of a significant educator and matriarch.
