Inter Begins Official Negotiations to Sign Israeli Midfielder Anan Khalaily from Union Saint-Gilloise
Inter Milan has initiated formal negotiations with Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise to acquire Israeli midfielder Anan Khalaily. Following reports of a preliminary agreement on Khalaily's personal terms, including a contract worth 1.8 million euros per season until 2031, Inter is now working to finalize a transfer deal. Union Saint-Gilloise has already rejected an 18 million euro offer from Napoli and is seeking around 25 million euros for the 21-year-old player.
Khalaily joined Union Saint-Gilloise from Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2024 for approximately 7.5 million euros. He quickly established himself as one of Europe's promising young talents, contributing to the Belgian league title and performing notably in the UEFA Champions League. His performances have attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Napoli, where sporting director Giovanni Manna was a key supporter of a potential transfer.
Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, confirmed that Khalaily is under close observation alongside at least five other players, with scouting and coaching staff evaluating the best options. If the transfer proceeds, Maccabi Haifa stands to gain over 2.5 million euros due to a 15 percent sell-on clause.
In the previous season, Khalaily scored six goals and provided six assists in 52 appearances for Union Saint-Gilloise across all competitions, including three goals in the Champions League, featuring a brace against Marseille and a winning goal against Atalanta.
