Scotty Wilbekin Joins Besiktas to Continue EuroLeague Career in Turkey
Former Maccabi Tel Aviv and Fenerbahce guard Scotty Wilbekin has signed with Besiktas, the newest Turkish team to join the EuroLeague. Wilbekin, who joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2022, was a key player during his first two seasons but struggled with injuries last season, limiting him to just two minutes in the EuroLeague as Fenerbahce won the title. Over nearly two years, he played only seven EuroLeague games, averaging 7.7 points, 1.3 assists, and 0.7 rebounds in under 15 minutes per game. Now, Wilbekin aims to revive his career with Besiktas, where he will reunite with former Maccabi teammate Ante Zizic. Recently, Besiktas also signed Furkan Korkmaz and Metecan Birsen, strengthening their roster ahead of the upcoming EuroLeague season.
